Glenna Goretzki was an amazing artist. Her passion for art was kindled at a very young age. She was intrigued by many things. She had a love of nature and being outdoors. Glenna’s biggest advantage was the mentoring she received throughout her lifetime. Art teachers in both junior high and high school saw that Glenna had something special. She attended commercial arts at a local vocational school. Working with graphic art designers and painting companies Glenna’s style of art started to become successful.
At the age of sixteen Glenna started making clay and ceramic pieces. This is where Glenna met another mentor named Nancy Lemmon. Nancy took Glenna under her tutelage and began showing her the ins and outs of ceramics. To date Glenna has crafted well over a thousand items. Many have been sold around the world. Some have been given as gifts, others are in churches, but they all have one thing in common. Life, if you look at a Glenna Goretzki Art piece you can see life. It doesn’t matter if it is a hand drawing, painted picture, piece of clay pottery, or ceramic piece. She was able to bring it to life.
Glenna was sent into this world to make a difference in the lives of people. She walked in God’s footsteps and followed that path in faith. This is where he has led her. She is with him now and her legacy will live on.
Glenna Goretzki Art Foundation will provide scholarships and grants for students to continue their art education. Someday grants will be used to support art organizations and programs in need as well!
